"I am fearless." she says to me
her hair is sticky with soil and matted with blood
her face is simple like an alien's fingerprints
she peeled off all ten fingernails
she placed them in my hand
tied with a ribbon and lock of hair
my pockets were full of poppy pods
"I know the feelings of a secret."
she whispers amongst heavy sobs
my silence fills the room with moon dust and fire
her tears turn to oil, her face stained dark black
the wetness of her womanhood paints me white
my bones break through her skin and turn to ash
